Join the fun!
There are as many ways to become involved in High Desert Opera's productions as there are people who want to help! This art-driven entity belongs to the community, as does every nonprofit.
HDO was created to benefit the people of the western slope, and we are amazed by the support of hundreds of volunteer hours during each production!
Ways to get involved with the company
Become involved in our productions
Sing, dance, build, usher, paint, house our guest artists, move things around, put up posters, write a grant proposal, give a presentation about HDO to schools or service groups, bake desserts, write articles, make props, etc. Each of these actions may only require a few hours of your time, but they are all vital to the creative process.
Serve as a Board Member
If you have an interest in seeing that the company has community backing, fiscal strength, and is living up to our mission of bringing high quality productions to the valley, you might find the time to serve on our board. (Estimated commitment is about 20-40 hours per year).
Become an Advisor to the Board
If you have a special gift or experience in areas that might help increase the quality of our work, there will be a way to plug that in to our plans. For example, you might be able to organize an event that could raise awareness or funds. Or you might be willing to take potential donors out for a chat over a glass of wine. Maybe you are a seamstress, a carpenter, a good writer, a computer genius, a social media maven. If your skills and love of great music can be combined, we welcome your involvement.
Become a sponsor of an upcoming HDO production
HDO welcomes contributions from local businesses and individuals interested in helping fund our shows.
